About T.S. Steadfast
Welcome to Training Ship Steadfast (T.S. Steadfast)
Our Cadets are treated as young adults and as such are expected to take responsibility for their actions. If a Cadet does not work within the rules of the Unit and New Zealand Cadet Forces then they may face disciplinary actions, likewise, initiative and co-operation are equally rewarded. As in all things in life the more effort you put in the more satisfaction and recognition you will receive.
Attendance
Training Ship Steadfast parades Tuesdays during the school terms, from 6.30 pm (1830 hours) to 9.00 pm (2100 hours). Weekend boating and training activities are optional; these weekends are normally held at Cass Bay or other locations determined. Cadets must attend 90% of all unit-training parades to qualify for further promotion.
Uniform
Uniform is included with the amount of fees due. The total cost of the full uniform is valued at $800. This uniform is provided free to the Cadets. Upon leaving the Unit the uniform remains the property of New Zealand Cadet Forces and it is expected to be returned or an account for the replacement cost of the uniform will be issued.
Cost
The fees are set at $25 per term. If you have more than two Cadets attending alternative fee arrangements can be made.
Camps and activities are additional. We try to run a camp per term and the usual cost is $10 per Cadet. This covers food, accommodation and training equipment. some camps may rise to approximately $30 per Cadet if they are held for a longer duration.
